Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan

South Vietnam, at the end of the afternoon of August 18, 1966, for three and a half hours, in the pouring rain, in the mud and under the dusty trees of a rubber plantation called Long Tan, Major Harry Smith and his company 108 young people, inexperienced soldiers, Australians and New Zealanders are fighting for their lives, facing an overwhelming enemy force of 2,500 Viet Cong fighters and soldiers from the North Vietnamese army. When the ammunition ends, the enemy prepares for a final attack, each man begins to seek his own answer and the power to triumph over an uncertain future, with honor, decency and courage. The battle of Long Tan is one of the most savage and decisive in history.
